Through Fire & Ice (The Five Stages of Grief), A Piano Concerto is an original composition by Jane McNealy that she began writing in 2011. Following her stage IV ovarian cancer diagnosis in 2015, McNealy returned to the work with a renewed sense of purpose, drawing on the five stages of grief to express her personal experience. Moving through a powerful emotional landscape of fear, uncertainty, struggle, and hope, the concerto is accompanied by a music video featuring McNealy’s own award-winning painting.
Set for release November 20, 2026, on Lo-Flo Records, Through Fire & Ice also seeks to raise funds for the American Cancer Society, transforming a deeply personal musical expression into an opportunity to support others affected by cancer.
